Cinematic 21:9
A general selection of cinematic images with an aspect ratio of 21:9, closely resembling Panavision widescreen (anamorphic 2.39:1) from the 60's. It's a desire to try and photographically replicate the sense of horizontal space afforded by the letterboxing effect that comes from a typical cinema screen. Whilst 16:9 has become commonplace for video, the extra sensation of space through extended width is almost unexplored in photography and is quite separate from a panoramic image. All images were envisaged as being widescreen when each was taken and then subsequently cropped and processed in post production.
